Today, the Minnesota Timberwolves made the signings of guard Javonte Cooke and forward Brian Bowen II official. The agreements’ details were kept a secret in accordance with team policy.
In the most recent NBA 2K24 Summer League 2023, Bowen II, 25, participated in all five games for the Timberwolves team, averaging 4.8 points on 47.4% shooting and 1.6 rebounds in 13.9 minutes per game. The Saginaw, Michigan native participated in 15 regular-season games with the Iowa Wolves, the Timberwolves’ NBA G League club, averaging 13.8 points on 46.0% shooting, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. He played in 12 games overall in his two seasons with the Indiana Pacers from 2019 to 2021.
Last season, Cooke, 24, played for the Iowa Wolves in 41 games (nine of which he started), averaging 19.5 minutes per game, 7.5 points on 42.2% shooting, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. The Winston-Salem State player, a product of Columbia, South Carolina, concluded his college career there in 2021–2022, playing in 23 games (17 starts), averaging 16.6 points on 46.6% field goal shooting, including 39.2% from three, 3.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.5 steals in 29.2 minutes per game.
