Swindon Town Sign 20-Year-Old Highly Rated Left-Footed Defender

Swindon Town are delighted to announce the signing of defender Thomas Wilson-Brown on a season-long loan from Leicester City, subject to EFL approval.

The highly rated left‑footed centre‑back arrives in Wiltshire following a loan spell with Kilmarnock for the second half of the 2024/25 season in the Scottish top flight, and impressed with his defensive maturity and versatility.

Wilson‑Brown originally signed a new contract with Leicester City earlier in the year, committing his future to the club until 2026 before being loaned to Kilmarnock. He brings fresh competition to Swindon’s defensive unit and adds valuable youth and energy during a crucial campaign.

The 20-year-old has featured for Leicester City’s Development Squad before his loan move eight times in all competitions, with his performances also recognised with a place in the first-team squad for their Premier League fixture against Manchester City back in December.

Upon joining the club, Thomas Wilson‑Brown said: “I’m thrilled to join Swindon Town. With ambitions of pushing for promotion, this is a fantastic opportunity. I want to get stuck in, contribute to the team, and help drive us forward.”

“I spoke to lots of people about Swindon who told me it was a fantastic club with a huge ground, and I’m really excited to be a part of this next chapter. I’ve spoken to the manager, Ian Holloway, a couple of times, and he played a big factor in me joining the club; his vision, his experience, everything you could want in a manager, made me excited to be here and be part of this journey.

Wilson-Brown becomes the latest addition to a strengthening Robins squad and our tenth signing of the summer, and he will wear the number sixteen shirt next season.
