Paul Clements has joined John Eustace’s backroom team at Derby County two months after leaving Stoke City.
Goalkeeper coach Clements was taken to the bet365 Stadium from Norwich by Narcis Pelach in September. The pair had also worked together at Huddersfield Town.
But the pair left after just three months following a run of difficult results and while Pelach has joined Graham Potter as a coach at West Ham, Clements is now back in work down the A50 at Pride Park.
He replaces former Rotherham United stalwart Andy Warrington, who had formed part of Paul Warne’s team at Derby. He joins former Stoke captain Eustace and ex-Stoke midfielder Keith Downing, who is first team coach. Downing and assistant manager Matt Gardiner had both worked with Eustace at Blackburn Rovers.
Derby are 22nd in the Championship with 13 games remaining, six points behind Stoke – who they will meet on the final day of the season.
They lost 4-0 at Queens Park Rangers in Eustace’s first game in charge last Friday and are now preparing for a home clash with Alex Neil’s Millwall on Saturday (12.30pm).
