According to RealGM’s transaction log, the Spurs have signed free agents guard Erik Stevenson and wing Paul Watson. Both players, according to Spotrac’s Keith Smith (Twitter link), signed non-guaranteed training camp contracts.
After graduating from Fresno State undrafted in 2017, Watson, 28, temporarily played in Germany. Since then, he has alternated between the NBA and the G League. The 6’6″ guard/forward, who has some three-and-D potential, played in 142 regular season and Showcase Cup NBAGL games for the Westchester Knicks, Raptors 905, and Oklahoma City Blue from 2017 to 22. He also played in 46 NBA games for the Hawks, Raptors, and Thunder from 2020 to 22.

Stevenson played five seasons of collegiate football at four different institutions before going undrafted earlier this year. He played in 34 games (26.0 MPG) as a super-senior at West Virginia in 2022–2023, averaging 15.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists with a.430/.379/.796 shooting percentage.
Watson and Stevenson most likely agreed to Exhibit 10 contracts, which make them eligible for incentives of up to $75,000 if San Antonio waives them and they later play for at least 60 days with the Spurs’ G League club in Austin.
The 21-man preseason roster for San Antonio is now complete.
