Bragg, who has been with Saints since the age of eight, was not part of the squad that drew 1-1 at Portsmouth due to recently suffering a concussion against Doncaster.

The 21 year old was ruled out of games against Hull City and Sheffield United due to concussion rules, and was not ready for the clash at Fratton Park.

Bragg had only returned to training a few days prior, and while he understood that the decision was made to protect him, it was a shame to miss a massive occasion.

“It was frustrating being out with a concussion. I got over the injury fairly quickly, and I felt good, but the worst thing is that you feel good and can’t play,” he told the Daily Echo.

“Not being involved was the hardest bit, and I missed a massive game [against Portsmouth], which was really hard.

“I know what it means. I felt it. I was thinking about that game for weeks before, and I know how much we wanted to win.

“It was hard to not be ready for it, but it’s fine, I always trust the guys’ judgment, they always know what is best for me. It was nice to be back on the pitch with the under-21s on Monday.

“Whatever form the minutes come, I will never not be humble enough to want to play a game. The under-21s have done so much for me, and it was nice to drop in with the boys again.”

Bragg scored and provided an assist for Adam Lallana’s side in a 2-0 win over West Brom at the Silverlake Stadium, lifting them to third in the Premier League 2.
