Sheffield Wednesday now received several bids for star duo

The Owls may be forced to sell players this month to ensure their financial stability, should the proposed takeover not go through.

Several players, including Barry Bannan and Bailey Cadamarteri, are attracting interest from other clubs.

One man is already close to leaving the Owls. Impressive youngster Yisa Alao is nearing a six-figure move to Premier League side Chelsea. This move will likely ease future financial worries.

Another player who could leave Sheffield Wednesday, according to recent reports, is Yan Valery. The Tunisian has admirers in England and up in Scotland.

Yan Valery Wanted by Wrexham and Rangers

With the Owls considering selling players to protect the club financially, Valery is the latest player to be linked with a move away.

The Star have reported that Championship side Wrexham and Scottish giants Rangers are both considering a move for the full back.

Rangers are managed by former Sheffield Wednesday manager, Danny Rohl. Rohl brought Valery to the club in his first full summer, and the pair worked together during their time at Southampton.

Wrexham, who signed former Owl Josh Windass last summer, were interested in Valery last summer, according to the Star. Valery opted to stay at Hillsborough despite the financial trouble, but could leave this summer if the club decide to cash in.

Valery Crucial for Wednesday

The Tunisia international is a crucial part of the Wednesday squad. Not only is he one of a few senior players in the squad, but he’s also a player with remarkable talent and versatility.

Valery can play right full back, right wingback, centre back, or centre midfield. He’s been utilised in all these positions this season for Wednesday as they’ve looked to stretch their small squad.

This season, his performances have received an average Sofascore rating of 6.68, the fifth highest in the team.

Valery’s been forced to show his defensive abilities this season in a struggling Wednesday side. Individually, he’s made 0.5 interceptions per game, 1.8 tackles per game, and made two clearances per game. He’s also recovered 4.8 balls per game, helping break up opposition attacks.

The defender has also chipped in going forward. His 0.7 key passes per match rank the third highest in the squad, behind Bannan and Svante Ingelsson. He also has the second-highest successful dribbles per match with 1.2, just behind Harry Amass, who has now returned to Manchester United.

If Valery does leave Wednesday, he’ll be a tough player to replace – if they are allowed to by the EFL. But with the current financial concerns, a sizeable offer might be too good to turn down
