Salford City is delighted to announce the signing of defender Adebola Oluwo on a two-year contract at The Peninsula Stadium.
The 25-year-old central defender moves to The Ammies following a successful couple of seasons at Barnet, which cumulated in him playing 36 league matches last season, scoring six goals and helping his side keep 14 clean sheets in the process, all during a campaign which saw the North West London club become the champions of The National League and achieve promotion back to the Football League.
Olowu is no stranger to playing in sides competing up at the top end of a table, having helped Barnet make the play-offs in the season prior to their promotion. He was also part of the Chelmsford City side which secured a National League South play-off finish at the end of the 2022-23 campaign, all experience which the defender is now looking to bring to Salford City.
“It was an amazing feeling last season, it was the first time I have been promoted as well so it was a new experience for me, and it is something that I want to do again and hopefully replicate here with Salford.
“Competing for promotion is quite a pressurising situation, so it is good that I have experienced it a few times now just to know how to handle it and how best to conduct myself.
“I feel that the way you are can also affect other people around you, so because I have that experience, I feel that I know how to impact other players around me in a positive way as well.
“I just cannot wait to get started here, and because I have had that taste of promotion last season, I really want to go do it again here at Salford.”
