Caspar Jander only joined Southampton last summer, but reports claim he’s quickly drawn interest from some top-flight clubs.
Southampton midfielder Caspar Jander has interest from RB Leipzig, VfB Stuttgart, Ajax and Premier League clubs, according to Florian Plettenberg.
Southampton are looking to turn their season around and fight for the Championship play-off spots. Form has returned under Tonda Eckert after a poor start to his permanent tenure, and hope is returning at St. Mary’s.
One man who has been a regular starter throughout is midfielder Caspar Jander. The German signed from FC Nurnberg in the summer transfer window for a reported £10.4m, marking a statement addition for the Saints.
Now though, it is claimed a string of clubs are interested in offering the 22-year-old a quick step up. Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg has said that RB Leipzig, VfB Stuttgart, Ajax and Premier League clubs are all monitoring Jander’s situation.
Deemed one to watch for the summer, Jander’s valuation is between €15m and €25m. He is under contract with Southampton until 2028.

Jander might have had a first half to forget as Southampton went 3-0 down to Leicester City on Tuesday night, but it has been a largely positive debut campaign for the German.
He has made the step from 2. Bundesliga to the Championship impressively. A dependable figure in possession, Jander ranks in the top 5% for successful passes among fellow midfielders in the division and has created an eye-catching 22 chances from his deep role.
Jander isn’t afraid to do the defensive side of the game either. No other player in his position has made more than his 78 tackles, and 12 blocked shots puts him in the top 10% as well.
His all-action midfield game and age makes him an attractive prospect for top clubs. It comes at a cost though, with the Saints notoriously tough negotiators.

Southampton selling cycle shows no signs of slowing down
In recent times, Southampton have been one of the country’s most successful clubs when it comes to developing players and selling them for big fees. The likes of Romeo Lavia, Mateus Fernandes, Tyler Dibling, Tino Livramento and James Ward-Prowse are the most recent examples.
That hasn’t necessarily bred success on the pitch though. The Saints are very stable off it and in a strong position financially, but they haven’t been able to reach their previous heights as an established Premier League club.
Despite this, there’s no sign of the model changing. Jander could be one of the next to bring in a big fee while Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Shea Charles are also highly-regarded assets.
If bids for Jander do arrive, expect the Saints to drive a hard bargain. They will be under no pressure to cash in and will want a big fee to part ways with him as a result.
