Raptors Provide Updates On Star Center’s Injuries

As the Toronto Raptors’ preseason unfolds, the silence surrounding Christian Koloko is starting to worry some. The 7-foot center has been out with respiratory problems since the start of the July Summer League. He is still out indefinitely, and Raptors coach Darko Rajakvi chose to stay mum when pressed for further information about the problem and if it would be a long-term one.

Precious Achiuwa returned to working out while the rest of the group is still dealing with his left groin ailment. During the drill on Wednesday that was accessible to the media, he could be seen shooting.

“Doing much better,” Rajaković said of Achiuwa. “He did a great job in treatments, in the weight room. So, he is progressing really well.”

It seems that the strain won’t last for very long. Regarding Otto Porter Jr., the club is still being cautious with the often injured 30-year-old wing. Porter is still working his way back into the game after missing the whole of last season due to a toe ailment.

“Today was the day he played 3-on-3 live against some younger guys on the roster. He did really well today. So hopefully we’re going to see him in the preseason,” Rajaković said.

The Raptors have returned from Vancouver and are expected to be at full strength for their next preseason game on Sunday against the Cairns Taipans of the National Basketball League of Australia.
