Phoenix Suns Agree To 2-Way Deal With Baylor Wing

Phoenix Suns veteran asks for more touches amid the team's recent poor results | Marca

The Phoenix Suns have agreed to a two-way deal with Baylor wing Jalen Bridges after he went unselected in the 2024 NBA Draft.

The Athletic‘s Shams Charania added that Bridges chose Suns over several other two-way offers. Bridges was ESPN’s No. 53-ranked prospect heading into the draft and No. 3 on the best available players list post-draft.

This comes after the Suns drafted Ryan Dunn at No. 28 overall and Marquette big man Oso Ighodaro at No. 40 by orchestrating multiple trades in the draft that now leave them with two additional future second-round picks.

Bridges, 23, is the first reported undrafted free agent signing for the Suns. With this two-way deal, now gets the chance to suit up for the Suns’ new G League team, the Valley Suns, who will play their inaugural season this fall at Arizona State’s Mullett Arena.

Teams are allowed to add three players on two-way contracts in addition to the 15 roster spots they have available. Two-way players can only be active for 50 NBA games per season and cannot appear in playoff games.

The 6-foot-7 Bridges, who has a 6-foot-10 wingspan, was a four-year college player, playing two seasons at West Virginia from 2020-22 before transferring to Baylor for his last two years. He started all but nine of his 130 career collegiate games and was named to the All-Big 12 Third Team this past season after averaging 12.2 points on 46.6%/41.2%/82.3% shooting splits, 5.7 rebounds and 1.1 steals with the Bears.
