Tommy Talau is set to remain in the NRL, with reports the off-contract winger will join the Sydney Roosters for the 2026 season.

After being linked with a move to the Super League, CODE Sports reports the Tricolours have swooped to secure the 25-year-old, adding depth to their outside back stocks ahead of next year.

Talau was not offered a new deal by Manly after a mixed 2025 campaign, leaving his NRL future uncertain. But the Roosters are reportedly willing to take a chance on the former Tiger as they look to rebuild their backline following several key departures.

The move will also reunite Talau in Sydney with his partner Jess Sergis, one of the Roosters’ NRLW superstars.

Roosters take a punt on experienced flyer

Talau managed 13 NRL appearances for Manly in 2025 after joining the club from the Wests Tigers, where he debuted in 2019.

Across his career, he’s featured in 83 first-grade matches and scored 28 tries, showcasing his versatility across both wing and centre.

With the Roosters set to lose several depth players in their outside backs, Talau’s experience and athleticism could make him a valuable asset as the club eyes a return to premiership contention.
