Memphis Grizzlies Add Two Shooters On Day Two Of NBA Draft

The Memphis Grizzlies always seem to find a diamond in the rough in the second round of the NBA Draft including GG Jackson and Vince Williams in just the last two years.

They hope they’ve done it again in the 2024 draft.

Starting the day with two second round selections, the Grizzlies added to their wing depth by selecting Washington State’s Jaylen Wells at pick number 39.

At 6’7”, Wells was a PAC-12 honorable mention when he scored almost 13 points a game for the Cougars while shooting close to 42-percent from three point range helping lead Wazzu to the NCAA Tournament.

Another need – perimeter shooting – filled especially after Grizzlies General Manager Zach Kleiman traded up from 57 to 53 with the Pistons to land another of this draft’s top shooters in UConn’s Cam Spencer.

Spencer shooting at a 44-percent clip from behind the line for the defending national champs. Spencer was also a teammate with current Grizzly Santi Aldama when the two played college ball together at Loyola.
