L’attaquant de l’AS Monaco exprime son désir de rester plus longtemps

Takumi Minamino (30 ans) a prolongé son contrat à l’AS Monaco mardi, s’engageant avec le club de la Principauté jusqu’en 2027. L’international japonais dit vouloir rester au club « le plus longtemps possible ».

Minamino a eu du mal à retrouver la forme après son transfert de 15 millions d’euros en provenance de Liverpool à l’été 2022, mais il a rebondi lors de la deuxième campagne, enregistrant 15 contributions au but (neuf buts, six passes décisives) en 31 matchs toutes compétitions confondues. Il a conservé cette forme lors de la campagne en cours. L’international japonais compte actuellement six buts et cinq passes décisives en 33 matchs cette saison, ce qui fait de lui un élément important de la ligne offensive du Stade Louis II.

Cependant, il y avait une incertitude concernant son avenir, son ancien contrat devant expirer à la fin de la saison. Ayant signé une prolongation d’un an, son avenir est désormais assuré. Minamino a évoqué sa prolongation lors d’une conférence de presse, à laquelle a assisté Get French Football News.

Minamino va-t-il terminer sa carrière à Monaco ?

« Je suis très content de [ma prolongation]. Je veux rester ici le plus longtemps possible. Le club m’a proposé un contrat d’un an et j’en suis très content. Je sens la confiance du club en moi et c’est la chose la plus importante pour moi. Je sens la confiance du coach, du staff et du club, c’est pourquoi j’ai signé ici », a-t-il commencé.

A 30 ans, Minamino a-t-il une chance de rester à Monaco pour le reste de sa carrière ? L’ancien attaquant de Liverpool a répondu : « Je veux rester le plus longtemps possible ici car c’est un club incroyable. Je veux aussi jouer chaque saison au plus haut niveau en Europe. Après ce contrat, j’aurai 32 ans. On verra. »
