Kristaps Porzingis Opens Up On Celtics Attacking Threat To Other Teams Ahead Of Nets Game

Porzingis on joining the Celtics: “This is what I really wanted” - Eurohoops

Entering their fifth game of the season Saturday night in Brooklyn, the Celtics’ offense has been scorching beyond temperature. Boston has the best offensive rating at 124.8, five points higher than the second-place Dallas Mavericks (119.8). Their NET rating of 20.1 is nearly nine points above Philadelphia.

At practice during the week, Porzingis further clarified how much easier life is playing with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, as the defensive attention is away from the center.

“I think what I add is more mismatches,” the seven-footer said. “Because of my shooting ability, a lot of times, they veer the switch early, so that leaves a five on JT, JB, D White, Jrue (Holiday). Like, all of those guys can just attack the five, or I can post-up the guard, and then we have the post-ups there also.”

Porzingis understands that the Celtics’ have all the creativity and offensive intelligence to provide their balance of attack.

“It’s just a matter of us finding that balance and making sure we take advantage of the best matchups, but I think that just makes us really dangerous,” he said, per Inside The Celtics. “Really dangerous, and also, I think it’s just, what can I say? It’s just hard to guard us, honestly.”

The 28-year-old has been very vocal about how this is only the beginning of the Celtics’ chemistry development and the potency of their dynamic offense.

“We just got started, so it’s looking good.”

The Celtics offense has looked like a historic juggernaut through their 4-0 start. The comfort level has continuously grown each contest as they are coming off their 155-point massacre against the Pacers. Boston could put on another show against the injured Nets in Brooklyn on Saturday night.
