The Indiana Pacers pulled off a win on Thursday night over the Cleveland Cavaliers by a final score of 114-112. Despite the fact that the Cavaliers sat Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and Max Strus, the Pacers struggled to beat them.
However, any win in the NBA is earned. Indiana got the job done, although it was not pretty. Leading the way for the Pacers in the win was superstar point guard Tyrese Haliburton, who scored 23 points, dished out 10 assists, and grabbed eight rebounds.
Aaron Nesmith had a strong game as well with 22 points. Outside of those two top performances, five other players scored in double figures. Jarace Walker came off the bench for 16, Bennedict Mathurin and Myles Turner each scored 13, and both Pascal Siakam and Obi Toppin scored 10. Not only did Indiana pick up the win, the team also made NBA history. In a post on X, the Pacers announced that they have now scored 100 or more points in 107 straight games at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
That is now the NBA record, breaking the previous mark set by the San Antonio Spurs between the 1978-1981 seasons.
Heading into the final two games of the season, Indiana is still fighting for something. Should they win those two games and the New York Knicks were to lose their final two, the Pacers would jump to the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Next up for Indiana will be a Friday night matchup at home against the Orlando Magic. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. ET.
