The Titans and Josh Hannay are reportedly set to receive a huge boost with star playmaker Jayden Campbell making the final call on his future.
According to Code Sports, Gold Coast powerbrokers and Campbell’s management will sit down next week with a multi-year deal set to be negotiated.
That contract is reportedly worth $3 million, with the Titans hopeful of staving off a recruitment drive from Mal Meninga and the Perth Bears.
Incoming coach Hannay and new football boss Scott Sattler reportedly sat down with Campbell during their week to explain the direction of the club moving forward.
Their vision could reportedly entice Campbell to snub offers from rivals once he becomes a free agent come November 1.
The 25-year-old’s current contract runs out at the end of the 2026 season, and the talented playmaker has no shortage of suitors.
Alongside the Bears, he has previously been linked with the Dragons, who are expected to be one of the biggest players in the free agency market.
The Gold Coast previously reportedly tabled a five-year, $4.5 million contract, which was offered by former recruitment boss Ezra Howe.
The club’s new management staff have wiped the slate clean, and Campbell has explained his desire to be apart of a winning organisation on the Gold Coast.
Campbell spent majority of the 2025 season in the No.7 jersey under Des Hasler, with the club’s halves stocks being depleted after the departure of Tom Weaver.
Alongside Campbell’s potential retention, embattled Dragons halfback Lachlan Ilias has reportedly signed a two-year contract to join Hannay’s squad.
The 25-year-old flew to the Gold Coast on Wednesday to finalise his contract, having enjoyed a turbulent season under Shane Flanagan in 2025.
Ilias signed on with the Dragons after falling out of favour at the Rabbitohs a year earlier, but will now begin a bid to win a spot in the Titans’ halves.
It remains to be seen if Ilias will start under Josh Hannay, with both AJ Brimson and Keano Kini also considered key members of the club’s spine.
Regardless, Hannay was confident Ilias has what it takes to deliver at the NRL level.
“Yes, we’ve got Lachy, he has officially signed with us,” Hannay said.
“He came up to the Gold Coast (on Wednesday) to meet with me and signed the deal.
“I look at a player like Lachlan and he’s had his challenges over the last two years and we had a really good discussion around that.
“I see a guy that comes here with a lot to prove, I see a guy that comes here with a really high ceiling.”
