Derby County sent a scout to watch Magdeburg’s win against Darmstadt but he remained tight-lipped on what he was doing in the stands.
According to Bild, the Rams had representation in the stands for the 4-1 victory with Magdeburg currently challenging for promotion from the Bundesliga 2.
Asked who he was watching, Bild said he responded with a smile but said he “couldn’t say”.
Bild claim there are two potential options that could interest Derby with striker Martijn Kaars, who has scored 16 goals this season, being subject of interest from clubs in Europe.
There has also been scouts regularly check in on Livan Burcu with the 20-year-old Turkish winger catching the eye after excelling on loan from Union Berlin.
He has scored three goals and registered seven assists this season and is said to have caught the eye of Besiktas.
Derby have not been afraid to turn to Europe in order to sign talent this season with goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterstrom signing last summer from Djurgarden.
Kenzo Goudmijn was also an arrival from AZ Alkmaar and he impressed in the early stages of the campaign.
And in the January window, Derby raided Viking FK twice with striker Lars-Jorgen Salvesen first penning a deal worth around £800,000.
He was then followed by the £4m capture of Sondre Langas with the centre-back already impressing having joined the club at the back end of the winter window.
