Coventry City have recalled goalkeeper Luke Bell from his loan spell amid injury fears over first choice shot-stopper Oliver Dovin.
Dovin was stretchered off in Coventry’s defeat at Sheffield United after appearing to sustain a knee injury.
The goalkeeper clashed knees in a challenge with Tyrese Campbell as the shot-stopper attempted a Cruyff turn in the penalty area.
He was replaced by Bradley Collins after just 38 minutes following lengthy treatment at Bramall Lane.
Dovin has impressed between the sticks for the Sky Blues since Boxing Day following a shaky start to life at Coventry.
The 22-year-old struggled for form following his summer arrival from Swedish side Hammarby.
He briefly lost his place in the team to Ben Wilson for a run of three games in September/October.
Dovin then reclaimed his place between the sticks until early November.
However, following the sacking of Mark Robins, then interim boss Rhys Carr handed Collins a run of games in goal.
Collins kept his place under new head coach Frank Lampard until a 4-1 defeat at Portsmouth in December.
Since then, Dovin has donned the gloves and has recorded seven clean sheets in his last 17 league appearances.
And Coventry have responded to Dovin’s potential injury by recalling young goalkeeper Bell from his loan spell at Southern League Premier South side Gloucester City.
The 20-year-old captained Coventry’s under-21 side on several occasions last season.
