The Colts had quite a few injury updates come in ahead of the preseason finale, some of them that are very key ones.
The Indianapolis Colts have quite a few injury updates ahead of Thursday night’s preseason finale matchup on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Here’s a few of the bigger injury updates:
- Colts tight end Jelani Woods suffered a severe turf toe injury on Saturday night and will have imminent surgery to repair it and is expected to be out “indefinitely.” (via NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport).
- Colts rookie interior offensive lineman Tanor Bortolini, who suffered a toe injury during Saturday night’s preseason win (and did not return) will “miss some time” per Indy head coach Shane Steichen (via The Athletic’s James Boyd)
- Colts 2nd-year cornerback JuJu Brents did not practice because of a nose injury suffered during Saturday night’s preseason game and his return is “sooner rather than later” per Indy head coach Shane Steichen (via The Athletic’s James Boyd). However, Steichen indicated that Brents will “not be rushed back.” (via The Herald Bulletin’s George Bremer).
- Colts 2nd-string running back Trey Sermon (hamstring) remains out. (via The Athletic’s Jems Boyd).
- Colts backup nose tackle (and BIG free agent acquisition) Raekwon Davis returns and is revved up to go soon. (via The IndyStar’s Nate Atkins)
