The 23-year-old’s severe hamstring injury, which needed surgery, has kept him out of action for the last four months.
In June, the striker was injured while serving with the Republic of Ireland on an international trip.
But Obafemi has now recovered and played for the Under-21 team against Blackburn Rovers in their local rivalry at Gawthorpe.
The starting lineup also includes Lawrence Vigouroux, CJ Egan-Riley, Han-Noah Massengo, and Darko Churlinov.
Obafemi joined on loan from Swansea City in January and made 14 appearances for Vincent Kompany’s team in the second part of the previous season.
Once the season was over, the relocation from South Wales became permanent.

Even though Ameen Al-Dakhil’s fitness was questioned before to the game, he was declared fit to play. Meanwhile, Anass Zaroury, who had been dropped from consecutive teams, made a comeback.
Manuel Benson, Johann Gudmundsson, Jordan Beyer, and Hjalmar Ekdal are all still on the sidelines.
