Everton vs Burnley: Live | 3-1 Blues final score - Royal Blue Mersey

Burnley forward Lyle Foster has put pen to paper over a new five-year deal at Turf Moor, the club has confirmed.

South African international Foster joined the Clarets from Belgian side Westerlo in January and scored his first goal at Turf Moor in the 3-0 win against Wigan a couple of months later.

The 23-year-old has managed three goals and two assists in seven Premier League games so far this season.

Foster told the club website: “I’m very happy to stay here, it’s a club with very good people. I have really enjoyed working here and I’m pleased to extend my stay.

“The supporters, Turf Moor, everything here. The way we organise ourselves and our standards are something I fell in love with.

“It’s a club that pushes towards excellence and that’s something I want to be a part of.”

Vincent Kompany’s side have had a tough start to the campaign after clinching the Championship title last term.

The Clarets have taken four points from their opening nine fixtures back in the top flight, with their only victory coming at Luton.

But Foster believes the squad has what it takes to climb the table and is optimistic the results will start to come soon.

He continued: “I’m trying to stay focussed and continue working hard. It’s a long season with lots of tough games, but as time goes on I think we will grow stronger.

“We will have a good season. I have plenty of belief and confidence within the squad, the coaches and everyone around the building.”

“There is no need to stress. Just enjoy what we’re doing and there’s a recipe for success.”
