Aston Villa Injury News And Return Dates Ahead Of Ipswich Clash

The latest Aston Villa injury news and return dates ahead of Saturday’s Premier League match against Ipswich.

Aston Villa will be hoping to maintain their strong start to the season when they visit the Tractor Boys this weekend in the Premier League. Unai Emery’s side has won four of their first five league games and are currently third in the league, making them heavy favourites for this fixture against Ipswich Town.

However, they suffered an injury blow in the game against Wycombe, with Diego Carlos being forced off before a ball was even kicked. While an official update has not been provided, he missed the League Cup game, which suggests he is doubtful for this weekend’s match.

Ahead of a game that could potentially be a slippery banana skin, here’s a list of injured players and their potential return dates for this weekend’s game at Portman Road Stadium:

Matty Cash

Cash picked up a thigh injury and has missed the last few games. He’s one of the heartbeats of the Villa team, and with the number of upcoming games, there’s no need to rush him back into the squad but the likelihood that Diego Carlos might miss the game could force Emery’s hands. There is a huge chance that he could be with the team this weekend.

Tyrone Mings

More than a year after suffering a serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury on the opening day of the 2023/24 season against Newcastle United, Mings is back in full training. The England centre-back rejoined team sessions on August 30 and is believed to be making good progress toward full fitness. However, the club remains cautious about his availability for future fixtures. The most sensible decision might be to wait until after the next international break.

Boubacar Kamara

Like Mings, the French midfielder had his 2023/24 season cut short by an ACL injury. He has not yet returned to full team training, as his rehabilitation continues. He is not expected to return until late next month.

John McGinn

McGinn is also a major doubt for this weekend’s game due to a thigh injury. He was withdrawn during last weekend’s match against Wolves, and manager Unai Emery confirmed that he will be unavailable for the next couple of weeks, which rules him out of the trip this weekend. Emery said, “McGinn is irreplaceable, but we have to look forward to having him back and ensure that the players who step in can do the job.”With Leon Bailey replacing McGinn, Villa has enough depth to cover until he returns after the international break.

Forced off in midweek before a ball was kicked and everyone has been silent on his update. Little chance he would be fit for this weekend’s game.
