When will Alabama football and Kalen DeBoer go on a run with 2026 prospects? That’s what fans are wondering, as the Tide currently only hold one verbal pledge for the class – that’d be 4-star cornerback Zyan Gibson. However, could good news be on the way for the staff?
As things stand, four-star tight end Mack Sutter holds more than 40 offers and some schools are starting to separate themselves. The list includes Alabama. Matter of fact, it now looks like DeBoer is in the driver’s seat to land his commitment. Recently, On3’s Steve Wiltfong put in his prediction for Sutter to give Alabama the news it’s hoping for. Is a verbal coming soon?
Alabama is now considered the favorite to land 4-star TE Mack Sutter
It’s not going to be easy for Alabama to get things over the line, though. Recently, Sutter announced his Top 5 and that he’ll be taking official visits to each of those programs. His final list is Alabama, Ohio State, Penn State, Illinois and Ole Miss.
Sutter is all set to take his OV to Tuscaloosa on June 20. That will be the final official Sutter will take, which is key for DeBoer. This means that Alabama will get the last chance to turn Sutter’s head while he’s on campus. A decision is expected to come from him in late June after he’s all done with his trips.

There’s a good reason Sutter is such a touted prospect too. He’s a total playmaker, ranked four stars and the No. 6 tight end according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s also the No. 2 player from his home state of Illinois for his class.
In around four months, we’ll know for sure where Sutter will be playing his college ball. For now, though, Alabama fans can feel confident knowing DeBoer is in a good spot to potentially land the stud TE. He’d be a great get for the program.
