Swindon Town have confirmed that forward Aaron Drinan has suffered a posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) tear, which will rule him out for the rest of the season.
The striker sustained the injury in a draw against Port Vale at the start of February and is out of contract at the end of the season.
Manager Ian Holloway told BBC Radio Wiltshire: “He’s going to be out for the rest of the season, but it’s not as bad as it could have been.
“He would have needed an operation if we took the first diagnosis, but we went for a second opinion, and he doesn’t need one now.
“It will heal itself now. It’s a shame, as he was playing really well.”
Drinan has played 34 times for the Robins this season, scoring three goals and contributing one assist.
He arrived from Leyton Orient in February of 2024 and has scored a total of seven goals across 51 appearances for Swindon.
Ian Holloway’s side are 17th in the League Two table, 12 points clear of the relegation zone with four wins in their last six matches.
On Saturday, they host 10th-placed Chesterfield at the County Ground.
