The Sacramento Kings agreed to a contract extension with head coach Mike Brown that will keep him with the club through the 2026-27 campaign, his agent told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Brown’s new deal is worth $30 million, sources told The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

The 54-year-old will get a $4-million raise for the upcoming season and earn $8.5 million annually for each of the final two campaigns, Wojnarowski reports.

Brown was set to enter the 2024-25 campaign on an expiring deal and had reportedly paused contract talks with Sacramento amid a difference in negotiations.

Brown came over from the Golden State Warriors in May 2022 following six seasons as an assistant under Steve Kerr. He made an immediate impact with the Kings, guiding them to a 48-win campaign and their first playoff berth since 2006.

Brown was rewarded for his hard work that season with NBA Coach of the Year honors, becoming the first unanimous winner.

Sacramento took a step back during the 2023-24 campaign, winning two fewer contests and falling to the New Orleans Pelicans in the play-in game.
