Paul Wellens has made two changes to the squad he declared for Saints’ last Super League round against Salford Red Devils, with Castleford Tigers coming to town on Friday night.
Daryl Clark steps out due to a minor muscle tear, and Konrad Hurrell also misses Friday’s game due to a neck injury.
The Saints are boosted though with the return to the 21-man squad of club captain, Jonny Lomax, who suffered a hand fracture injury in the Round 12 win over Leeds Rhinos during May.
Leon Cowen is the other Saint stepping in.
He has been playing in the Reserves side and has been on dual-registration in recent weeks at Swinton Lions too.
Cowen is one of four Saints in Wellens’ squad that could make their debuts if selected to take on the Tigers, the others being Jake Burns, Jonny Vaughan and Harry Robertson.
Saints 21: 1. Jack Welsby, 3. Waqa Blake, 4. Mark Percival, 5. Jon Bennison, 6. Jonny Lomax, 7. Lewis Dodd, 10. Matty Lees, 11. Sione Mata’utia, 14. Moses Mbye, 15. James Bell, 16.
