The 23 year old forward could crack the rotation as a rookie for the Celtics. Baylor Scheierman is actually the first player that Brad Stevens has drafted in the NBA first round as he traded the Celtics 2021, 2022, and 2023 first round picks (as well as the 2023 1st he acquired in the Marcus Smart trade). If you’re wondering why Scheierman lasted to the final pick in the 1st round the two main things going against him are his age (He will be 24 already when training camp starts) and his lack of athleticism and how it projects to him being able to defend at the NBA level. Offensively he has a ton of tools and is a very solid rebounder for his size.
