FC Halifax Town have announced the signing of former Oldham Athletic and Southend United centre-back Shaun Hobson.
The 27-year-old was in the academy at Burnley before joining AFC Bournemouth in 2016, from where he had loan spells at Eastbourne Borough and Weymouth in the National League South and Chester and Eastleigh in the National League.
Hobson joined Southend United in League Two in Septmeber 2020, going on to make 48 appearances in all competitions that season, but couldn’t prevent their relegation to the National League.
During a three year stint with the Shrimpers, Hobson made over 100 appearances.
In June 2023, the defender signed for Oldham and made 22 appearances last campaign for the Latics, including an extra time substitute appearance in the playoff final against his former club.
