19 Facts About Sacramento Kings - Facts.net

According to NBA insider Matt Moore of The Action Network , the Sacramento Kings have had trade calls with the Chicago Bulls involving Zach LaVine and Alex Caruso.

“The Sacramento Kings are going back to the well with the same trade package they offered Toronto twice for OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam,” Moore wrote. “The offer includes Harrison Barnes, Kevin Huerter and draft pick compensation. They’re known to have had calls with Chicago involving Zach LaVine and Alex Caruso.”

The Bulls will attempt to trade LaVine this offseason after failing to find a taker for him at the trade deadline.

Chicago has won just one playoff game since acquiring LaVine from the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2017.

LaVine played in only 25 games this season. He underwent season-ending right foot surgery in February.

A two-time All-Star, LaVine averaged 19.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 2023-24 while shooting 45.2% from the field, 34.9% from beyond the arc and 85.4% from the free-throw line.

LaVine signed a five-year, $215 million contract with the Bulls in July 2022. He’ll make $43 million next season and $45 million in 2025-26.

A UCLA product, LaVine has career averages of 20.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.3 blocks with the Timberwolves and Bulls.

Caruso averaged 10.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.0 blocks this season while shooting 46.8% overall, 40.8% from 3 and 76.0% from the free-throw line. He will make $9.9 million next season.

The 30-year-old Caruso has career averages of 6.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.5 blocks with the Los Angeles Lakers and Bulls. He’s one of the best defenders in the NBA.

Starting July 6, Caruso is eligible to sign a four-year, $78.8 million extension.

According to NBA insider Will Gottlieb of CHGO Sports, the Bulls didn’t trade Caruso at the 2024 trade deadline because ownership had a “mandate” to push for the playoffs.

The Kings and Bulls missed the postseason this year.
