South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer continues to attack the transfer portal like he’s mad at it. He picked up his 15th portal commitment on April 29 from defensive tackle Troy Pikes of Georgia Southern.
Pikes (6-3, 290) made an official visit to USC on Sunday. He also reportedly made visits to Georgia, Ohio State and Georgia Tech since entering the portal.
Pikes is a native of Atlanta who spent two seasons in Statesboro, Ga. He redshirted his first season then played in 13 games last season, recording 13 tackles.
In his senior season at Mays High, Pikes totaled 109 tackles with eight sacks.
Pikes gives the Gamecocks five defensive tackles in their 2025 class of newcomers which now numbers 42.

Yarmah is a Roanoke, Va., native who was previously committed to High Point University — a program that made the NCAA Tournament this past season — before reopening his recruitment after HPU coach Alan Huss left the Panthers to become an assistant at Creighton University.
Yarmah put together a strong season in the Overtime Elite league last season, averaging 14 points and 8 rebounds per game. He averaged 10 points and 7 rebounds per game this previous season.
Yarmah was teammates with fellow Gamecock commits Eli Ellis and Hayden Assemian with the YNG Dreamerz team with Overtime Elite. He previously attended Moravian Prep in North Carolina.
Yarmah is the fifth high school recruit to commit/sign with the Gamecocks for their 2025 class. He joins six transfers in the group of newcomers recruited by Paris for the 2025 roster.
