West Brom boss Tony Mowbray has said Isaac Price is expected to be fine to play this weekend against Sunderland.
West Brom’s January signing picked up a calf problem on international duty with Northern Ireland. He was on the bench for WBA’s last game against Norwich City.
Price, 21, was snapped up by the Baggies this past winter and has made a positive impression so far. He has made nine appearances in all competitions to date and has scored once against Hull City.
Mowbray has shared this update regarding his fitness, as per a report by BirminghamLive: “Isaac’s trained perfectly the last few days so no problems. We are just managing his calf situation that he had while he was away on international duty. As I said at the time, we felt it was better to miss one than start one and miss seven. Hopefully he is going to be available for the run in and we can get the benefit of that.“
West Brom selection boost regarding Isaac Price
Having Price available is good news for West Brom as they look to return to winning ways against Sunderland.
He has done well since joining the Baggies and has injected quality into their team.
The Yorkshire-born man rose up through the academy ranks at Everton and was a regular for the Premier League side at various different youth levels.
Price, who has made 20 caps for the Northern Ireland national team, penned his first professional deal with the Toffees back in 2020.
He went on to play three times for the Merseyside outfit’s first-team before heading out the exit door in 2023 for a new challenge at Standard Liege.
Price was a hit during his time in Belgium and scored one goal in 63 matches before returning to England earlier this year.
After joining West Brom, he told their website at the time: “I am over the moon to be here and I’m really excited to get started. It’s a great opportunity for me to show the manager what I can do and I think I’m going into it like all the other players are. Everyone will be trying to show him what they can do, even though the other lads have been here longer than me.”

West Brom are sat in 6th place and are inside the play-offs with Burnley, Sunderland and Coventry City.
They have the likes of Middlesbrough, Bristol City, Watford and Norwich City chasing them down.
