Wrexham are being urged to let Paul Mullin dictate his own future, with the prolific striker earning the right to make big transfer decisions.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Having moved to North Wales in 2021, as Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney convinced him to drop out of the EFL, Mullin has hit 110 goals for the Red Dragons while becoming a three-time Player of the Year.

He has, however, dropped down the pecking order under Phil Parkinson – with a bit-part role played in a historic third successive promotion that has Wrexham heading to the Championship. Inevitable exit talk has been generated.

Former EFL star turned pundit Don Goodman has told FruityKing of what should happen next: “I would love to think that Wrexham will give Paul Mullin the opportunity to decide whether he wants to move on or not.
“Some people see the number three at the beginning of an age and think ‘That player is finished’ but it’s not the case. At 30, I was in my physical prime and had the benefit from the experience of playing for a long time, so Paul Mullin shouldn’t be on the decline.
“He’ll want to play first-team football but it’s very doubtful he’ll get that at Wrexham in the Championship after starting just nine League One games last year. Paul has a choice to make and I just hope Wrexham give him the opportunity to make it himself.”
WHAT NEXT FOR PAUL MULLIN?
It has been suggested that Wrexham are prepared to part with Mullin as a free agent, as they waive a fee for a man tied to a contract through to 2027, and that will make it easier for him to find a new club that matches his ambition and desire to remain close to his Merseyside roots.
