Sport.ua in Ukraine now claim that Wrexham are ‘actively interested’ in signing defender Maksym Talovierov.

It’s stated that Derby County are also interested in Talovierov, who allegedly has a release clause in his Plymouth Argyle contract.

Talovierov allegedly wants to stay in English football having only joined Argyle from Austrian side LASK for a fee of around £1.7million, as noted by the Plymouth Herald, in January.

The 24-year-old – who has seven Ukraine caps to his name – previously turned out for the likes of Slavia Prague and Slovan Liberec.

A huge 6ft 4in defender, Talovierov played across a back three under Miron Muslic at Argyle.

That could lend itself well to slotting into Parkinson’s 3-5-2 approach at Wrexham, adding competition to Parkinson’s defensive options.

Talovierov even scored against Manchester City in the FA Cup, becoming an instant cult hero with Argyle fans.

Wrexham are already eyeing Ryan Hardie and the interest in Talovierov may mean Parkinson launches a double raid on the Pilgrims.

Wrexham aren’t alone in the race for Talovierov, and the defender has remained coy on his future.

As quoted by Sport.ua, Talovierov vowed to remain quiet on his future until any concrete opportunities arise.

“I think it would make sense to comment on something when there are some specifics,” said Talovierov.

The Ukrainian may now be a name to keep close tabs on this summer, with this rumour certainly coming out of nowhere.

Wrexham have a number of centre backs at Parkinson’s disposal, but with Will Boyle likely to move on, a big signing like Talovierov could be a priority.
